JUKSKEI is a sport played in the Southern parts of Africa and originated in South Africa almost 300 years ago. It originated as a pass-time for people travelling in the bare country with ox wagon. The Dragoons, to while away long idle hours, threw yoke-skeys and wooden stumps to an object in the ground in 1743. The transport drivers from the Cape also played at the larger halting places, which led to the development of this Indigenous and organized sport.
